I Can Change My Life

December 3, 2008

This is one of the best songs from rising star Yui. <Life> was featured first as a single and then as one of the 13 songs on her first album. The song is upbeat, the lyrics are well written and hardly repeated, and the whole song is actually quite uplifting. Perhaps listening to <Life> every morning is a good way to start your day.

I Want To See You

November 29, 2008

A sweet love song conveying strong desires to see the other person, more than any one else in his world. This song is easily one of the most emotional and bitter in the world of Japanese music. Much reminiscing, regrets and hopes of seeing the person again is well spread out through this wonderful song. The singer’s melancholic vibratos adds to the sorrow of this masterpiece.

Is Our World Poison?

November 28, 2008

This song,<Poison> is used in the popular Japanese drama <Great Teacher Onizuka> also known as G.T.O in short. G.T.O is a story about a hooligan-turned-teacher who begins to like teaching, and uses his hooligan ways to solve problems of his students, making the whole school’s educators to be in shock. Onizuka detests the inefficiency and nonchalance of the school bereaucracy in helping problem students in matters such as bullying. Onizuka meets the love of his life in the school as well.

The song <Poison> is thought-provoking as it questions the role of us individuals in this world. Can we say what we want? Can we dream what we want? Hopefully, this song will inspire you and heat up your soul as well!

Innocent Sorrow-How To Rock Down An Entire Library

November 27, 2008

In this MV, the band performs a song in some library of a school presumably called Abingdon Boys School (that is the band name too). Eventually the library got rocked down due to their powerful music.

I kind of stumbled upon this song when I ask a friend to “send me some rock songs”. Thus I listened to a few songs and then this song reached my ears and caught my attention the first time i hear it. The singer has powerful vibratos and the song overall sounds fine and high-energy. I decided to do some research on them.

The singer is Nishikawa Takanori, a veteran singer who is also known as TM Revolution, which stands for Takanori Makes Revolution. Play the music and observe the quality of his voice and his mature techniques.

20th Century Boys

November 27, 2008

This is a inspiring song that makes you think of those “change the world” themes. As for why is it called 20th century boys instead of 21th century, i think it refers to boys who are teenagers and youths by the year 2000, and therefore “20th century boys”.

Rock Music,Funny Music Video

November 27, 2008

Band’s name is Acid Black Cherry. This rock song has a very funny MV where the band mates play as nerdy musicians and then metamorphosize to cool rockers when they play their music <Spell Magic>. Enjoy the video. I know you will.

[Note:The administrator has classified the meanings of the song as "offensive" and thus adviseĀ  against clicking "Read the rest of this entry" to see the lyrics. However, he believes that watching the MV itself should provide sheer fun due to its comedic nature.]
